O projekte
Iniciatíva Bezpečná.žurnalistika.sk vznikla preto, že sme presvedčení, že bezpečnosť novinárov je jednou z najvážnejších výziev posledných rokov. Ani päť rokov po vražde investigatívneho novinára Jána Kuciaka a jeho snúbenice Martiny Kušnírovej útokov na novinárov, pri ich práci vo verejnom záujme, neubúda. Trend je, zdá sa, opačný. Výskum, ktorý sme uskutočnili naznačuje, že sa s útokom alebo s hrozbou kvôli svojej práci v uplynulom roku stretli viac ako dve tretiny novinárok a novinárov
Investigatívne centrum Jána Kuciaka sa preto rozhodlo koordinovať slovenskú iniciatívu Bezpečná.žurnalistika.sk, ktorej cieľom je monitoring útokov voči novinárom a pomoc tým, ktorí sa stanú terčom útoku. Na príprave a rozvoji iniciatívy spolupracujeme s medzinárodnou organizáciou Reportéri bez hraníc, Holandským veľvyslanectvom na Slovensku a holandským systémom na ochranu novinárov PersVeilig.
